<p>I've still got a while until college application time but this is my current resume.</p>
<p>GPA unweighted: 3.95</p>
<p>Have not taken the SAT but I expect to make it at 2200 or above.
I've taken all the honors and AP allowed at my grade level.
ECs: Key Club, I tutor in this program for underprivileged kids downtown, art related community service, assistant teacher at chinese school, presidential service award bronze.
Art is really my passion and "main thing" I guess, I won a gold key in Scholastic and am published in a art book which isn't much but if I submit a great portfolio will that show them my talent and love for art?(I hope I didn't just sound really arrogant there)
I won first place in a engineering competition and will be going to state in April. Will probably do an internship involving engineering over the summer.
Doing biology research at a lab over the summer. Participated in ecology competition involving a bunch of schools
I've been fencing for a few years, but am unrated though I'll start competing in tournaments soon.
Piano for 8 years and a few awards, though nothing spectacular :P

<p>Well academically you fit the averages, especially if you get a 2200+/32+ on your tests. Your ECs are pretty good but you should try and get more leadership positions. Also, it may be wise to focus on your dual passion for engineering and art, its unique and shows in your ECs. All of the Ivy’s are reaches (they are for everyone), but if you can make yourself stand out, your chances will significantly raise. </p>
<p>They’ve already pointed it out, but it’s good that your extracurriculars are dealing with your interests; just maybe try to have more higher positions. I would just give you a reach for all of them because they’re such prestigious schools and there’s really no way to say it’s a definite match, but if you have something unique about you that stands out (and good essays + recs) it’s definitely a plus. </p>
<p>@philery It would probably be a high match/low reach. I think if you write good essays and really emphasize on the dual passion for engineering and art since they’re almost opposites, it would help (and good recommendations too!). They’re all top-tier schools so I can’t say yes for sure for them, but if you add a little more you’ve got a good shot.</p>
<p>Having a good art supplement will give you a nice boost. Gold keys are a boost, but as a fellow student artist, I’d recommend submitting to other art competitions since they can be so subjective. To give you an example, I have a piece that only won a silver key for scholastic, but won a national level award in a different competition (I can tell you about more competitions if you PM me). Keep up the good grades, study really hard for the SAT. haha, seeing anime club on your list made me smile. I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful pool of acceptances to choose from, but yale is a crapshoot, as is upenn and columbia. </p>
