UCB: Low Reach
UCLA/UCSD: High Match
UOP: High Match

Considering I know Vanderbilt, I’m just going to assume the other colleges are the same competitiveness. No offense, but unless you somehow put them in a golden light in your application, your EC’s are extremely weak. Plus, you might want to get up your SAT score for the higher competitive schools

@RoadTriptoCollege2017 chilll. Do you work for Vandy admissions? If so, enlighten us!

OP, I would find some more target/safety schools, but NYU looks like it may be one. Have you considered schools in the top 30-40 range in US News?

@SeinfeldFan1 Thanks for adressing it in such a nice and mature way to address that, I bet you have colleges just lining up.

@RoadTriptoCollege2017 Thanks for the input, looking at your thread, it looks to me it was fairly reasonable you call my EC’s extremely weak haha. Idk man you could have skipped the “extremely” though.

@SeinfeldFan1 Thank you so much! Yeah, actually I’m mostly looking schools who have a good dental program and I’m still researching! I’m leaning towards UoP though.

@10s4life I know right?! Ugh, my GPA is so dang low! My SAT score isn’t THAT great either. Thanks for replying though! And also, I agree with you on chance(ing)? others haha but you know I would like to share some stuff with others and my views on it! :))

@10s4life thank you so much for this encouraging comment! I really appreciate it!! :))

I think your EC’s only seem weak to us just cause of the way you described it in the OP (little detail, short). To me, they’re just acronyms I don’t know about.Of course, I’m sure when you put it on your app with the additional information and what you did it’ll look stellar. Good luck

@RiceFarmer Thank you!!

@RoadTriptoCollege2017 In a few threads I’ve seen, you come off as extremely harsh. I would hardly call being #1 in the nation at a sport weak. Plus 200 volunteering hours isn’t shabby.

@ambitionsquared UMMMMM… First off, it’s a “unique sport” so it could be like quid-ditch or something, also he’s first in county not nation so… so what? I would say thats not horrible but not to good either

@emily09098 Sorry if it did come across harsh though, I myself just prefer criticism like this and its kicks me in the back when people don’t. I apologize for being rash! You should at least find a school that you really like and feel confortable at with the current stats!

@RoadTriptoCollege2017 it was actually fencing although I do enjoy watching quidditch in Harry Potter haha. Also I’m a she. Furthermore, size of the county I reside in is pretty big so being first in county was kind of a big deal for me mostly because of the fact I will be playing in college! I just wish your words were softer and a little less acerbic!! i do appreciate you commenting and giving your views on it  I wish you luck getting into MIT and Harvard

@RoadTriptoCollege2017 My bad, I misread county as country. It’s possible it is quidditch lol, but I’m not gonna make any assumptions.
@emily09098 You’re competitive for the UCs. Your SAT score is about average for Cal and above average for the rest. Your uw GPA is slightly subpar for UCLA and Cal, but that won’t be a dealbreaker. Vandy loves high test scores, so unless you can raise your SAT score, acceptance is unlikely. Chicago prioritizes essays a ton, so make sure to ace those and you might have a chance. Good luck!

UoP-Mid Reach
UCB-Low Reach
UCLA/Vanderbilt-High Match
UCSD/NYU-Low Match

I am LIVING for the little drama before HAHA but anyways:
UChicago/Vanderbilt - Reach
UCB - Low Reach
UCSD/UCLA - High Match
NYU - Match
You seem like a pretty competitive student and I know you’ll do well wherever you go. Good luck!!

@Vetztrasa @harmonizer18 thank you guys! When you say NYU is a low match is that NYU just the university or the BA/DDS program? Because the dental, program is quite difficult to get into so I wasn’t sure haha
