<p>Hi everyone, so i would like to know my chances for
Stanford
Columbia
Brown
UC Berkeley
Caltech
UCLA </p>

<p>My dream school is Stanford but I know how difficult it is to get in, so please give suggestions to essays, ec, or anything that I can improve on</p>

<p>I'm a rising senior
Asian, Female
California resident
Intended major: Math
GPA: 4.65 (W), 3.89?(UW)
1 AP soph (world hist), 5 APs jr(calc ab, chinese, physics, chem, and eng lang), 3 or 4 sr
AP exams: all fives on the ones I took except for eng :[, 4
SAT Reasoning: 2040 :'[ planning to retake, probably will reach 2100s (rly low i know...)
planning to take ACT too (took princeton rev mock test: got 33 :] but i donno if its accurate xD)
SAT Subj: Math 800, Physics 770, Chem 740
Rank: either valedictorian or 2nd out of about 550-600 student body
ECs:
Math Team (9th, 11th, and 12th) captain next year :] does it look bad that i skipped one year? D:
FNL (4 yrs) safe lifestyle club-(red ribbon week,no smoking, no drunkdriving etc) public relations person in jr year, president sr yr
CSF (4 years)
Key Club (4 yrs) rep during jr year
Mu Alpha Theta (9, 11, 12)
library volunteer about 250-300 hours</p>

<p>Essays should be okay :]</p>

<p>one last thing, should I try for early decision for stanford? i heard that early decision is higher admit rate but more brutal cause the applicants are much more competitive D: i reallyyy dont know what to do T_T help!! and thank you all so much for your help :]</p>

<p>You seem pretty strong in GPA / Rank, EC’s seem decent, your SAT is low :[</p>

<p>Study for the October SAT! And don’t do EA, you will be up against stiff competition. Get that SAT score up and go RD!

<p>To be honest, I think you’re into UCB and UCLA, but none of the others :(, mainly because of your SAT scores. Applying never hurt though!</p>

<p>Like most CA Asians, you’ve fallen for the dreaded Stanford or Berkeley/UCLA Plan (with a dash of Ivy). Forget about Stanford EA and CalTech–your grades and activities aren’t strong enough. You really need to expand your college list.</p>

<p>Don’t worry, you’ll get into a good college. Just be creative (like a Chicago or Davidson). And boost that SAT up 100 points…</p>

<p>oh btw, quick q (kinda off topic) is a creative approach towards UC essays frowned upon by admission officers?</p>

<p>You need to get your SAT up, but that seems to be the only weak area of your application. you should be able to get into UCLA and Berkeley, but the others will be tough. the fact that youre asian certainly does not help (a sad truth) I think you would have better chances applying RD to Stanford chance back? <a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/781998-updated-chance-senior.html[/url]”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/781998-updated-chance-senior.html&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
