<p>I've applied to Brown ED, and I've been accepted into U of M.</p>
<p>Asian/female.
I go to a public school that was in the top ten "Best High Schools" according to U.S. News
My school sends 5-7 students each year to Ivy league or similar like MIT
GPA: 3.89 (out of 4.0)
Rank: my school doesn't do rankings</p>
<p>Test Scores:</p>
<p>ACT: 33 composite
31 English
34 Math
34 Science
32 Reading</p>
<p>SAT subject tests:
740 Physics
770 Math Level II</p>
<p>Education:
I am currently taking 7 IB classes (IB is similar to AP except they are completed in two years (Junior and Senior year) and include internal assessments [labs, language orals, mathematical modeling] so that the final grade is not only the one final test)
IB English
IB History
IB Physics
IB Biology
IB Higher Level Mathematics
IB Music
IB Spanish
Everyone takes 6 IBs and the maximum anyone can take is 7. However, there are requirements that I had to meet so that I could take 7 IBs and only 2% of people each year take seven IBs.</p>
<p>Extracurriculars:
Forensics Team Board Member (voted in)
NHS Board Member (voted in)
SHS (Spanish Honors Society) Board Member (voted in)
String Quartet Leader (voted in)
Principal Chair for 2nd Violins of my county's youth orchestra (auditioned into)
I also volunteer at my church each week with the children programs.
Piano/Violin Performer (as in I take lessons and play in concerts)</p>
<p>Honors:
My poem was published in a book.
6-7 District/State Solo and Ensemble medals</p>
<p>Teacher Recs:
Physics and Biology teachers. I believe both were good</p>
<p>Essays:
Looking back at them, I realize that I should have fixed a few things, but overall, I think they were good. </p>
<p>Interview (Brown University-the only interview so far):
It went very well (almost 2 hours though... I'm not sure if this is good or bad)
The interviewer said that I was a great fit for Brown. </p>
<p>Could you please chance me for:
Brown
Yale
Princeton
Columbia
U of Penn
Barnard
Wellesley
John Hopkins
Swarthmore</p>
<p>I honestly think you have a solid chance at most of the schools. I’ve learned that the longer the interview, the better it went.
That being said:
Brown- low to regular reach
Princeton- reach
Columbia- reach
UPenn- low reach
Barnard- match
Wellesley- match
John Hopkins- match
Swarthmore- low reach</p>
<p>Additional information:
my school is an IB school so everyone’s an IB diploma candidate and we don’t have any AP classes
We also don’t have any school sports teams =/</p>
<p>I think you EC’s are really cool and your GPA and scores seem good. I think your schools are high reaches for everyone except for Hopkins, Wellesly and Barnard which are low reaches to matches. My school loves out IB students way more than most of the AP students, and most of the colleges I visited also said they like IB better because we write a lot more. I think it depends on high school and the college though</p>
<p>Your ECs are awesome and your test scores seem good! I’m so jealous you’ve already been accepted to Michigan! I hope I get in!
Brown - high match to low reach
Yale - reach
Princeton - reach
Columbia - reach
U of Penn -reach
Barnard - match
Wellesley - match
John Hopkins -match
Swarthmore - high match</p>
<p>I think your high school’s status/number of IB’s significantly improves your chances. Also, a two hour interview is basically amazing haha they wouldn’t have wasted your time if you hadn’t been good!</p>
<p>Brown- I think you’ll get it
Yale- Reach
Princeton- Reach
Columbia- Reach
U of Penn- Low reach/high match
Barnard-Match
Wellesley-Match
Johns Hopkins-High match
Swarthmore-High match</p>
<p>Brown- solid shot (grr…competition!)
Yale- low reach
Princeton- reach
Columbia- reach
U of Penn- not too sure…
Barnard- solid match
Wellesley- not sure
John Hopkins- not sure…
Swarthmore - solid chance</p>
<p>Gar! You’re going for the same Ivy’s as me >.< Honestly, your stats look great. There’s little reason why you’d be rejected. I can pretty much say with some confidence that you’ll get into at least 1 Ivy.</p>
<p>You’re so lucky that you had an interview! I’m a Quest Bridge applicant, so while this does give me a cutting edge that most others don’t have, especially for Brown, I don’t get interviewed :(</p>
<p>I’ve forgotten a college XD… Northwestern.
so, here’s my new list:
Brown
Yale
Princeton
Columbia
U of Penn
Barnard
Wellesley
John Hopkins
Swarthmore
Northwestern</p>
<p>You have a very challenging courseload, and have good test scores! Your ec’s are good and your high school is well recognized. I think you have great shot at brown.</p>
<p>As for Regular Decision- all your ivies go from high match to reaches because you lose the ED advantage, but you should be good for every other non-ivy school (hopkins, etc.)</p>
<p>the IVYs are tough, as we all know, but you seem like a seamless fit, I’d be surprised if you didn’t get into a couple. As for Swarthmore and Bernard, you’re in</p>
<p>Definitely in at Swarthmore (it’s local for me and you definitely have better grades than kids from my school who go there), same with Wellesley and Barnard. Hopkins should be no problem, and ED for Brown gives you a nice advantage over other, probably very similar kids.</p>
<p>Brown—ED low reach
Yale—high reach
Princeton—high reach
Columbia—reach
U of Penn—low reach
Barnard—low reach/high match
Wellesley—high match
John Hopkins—high match
Swarthmore —match</p>
<p>I think you’ll get into most of the schools on your list with Brown, Yale, and Princeton being the big reaches. I think you’ll easily get into Hopkins, Wellesley, and Columbia to be honest. Your EC’s are excellent and your course load is definitely impressive.</p>
<p>Brown: low reach
Yale: reach
Princeton: high reach for everyone lol
Columbia: low reach
U of Penn: low reach
Barnard: high match
Wellesley: high match
John Hopkins: match
Swarthmore: match</p>
