chance me, please!! zomg1234561!! chances?

Sorry for the annoying title. I needed to catch your attention.
Anyway.. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me what my chances are..

Currently a JUNIOR, class of '08.

Large Public school
Most rigorous courses available, 5 APs
Took calculus ab sophomore year, if that means anything..
GPA 3.5 UW, Top 6%
PSAT 227
taking SAT in March.. (22_ _ ..something? keeping my fingers crossed!)

EC's (12th grade predicted):

Violin (9 years)
Piano (12 years)
Karate (3 years)
Math and Science Team (9)
Mu Alpha Theta (9,10,11,12)
Region Orchestra (9,10)
Model UN (11,12)
Spanish Honor Society (11,12)
NHS(11,12)

A handful of Solo and Ensemble awards
I volunteer regularly at a literacy center, teaching children how to read
Annual city marathon volunteer
Loaves and fishes soup kitchen volunteer
Help mother with family business

Agh. I'm horribly average. Is there hope?

I reaaallly want to go to Emory. But the average GPA of incoming freshmen is 3.8, from what i've heard.

Do i stand a chance? Any advice on what i can do? Work harder & beef up my extra curriculars, of course.. I'll be applying for positions next year >.>
What if i work my butt off and get really close to a perfect score for the SAT? Will that boost my chances significantly?

Other schools to apply to?

Any tips/ comments are appreciated.

i assume you'll have great SATs scores...SAT IIs....etc, so I suggest you beef up that violin skill. Maybe try out for the all-state orchestra? You can always look at Duke, Vanderbilt, WashU. They're fairly similar to Emory in that they are all in a more southern atmosphere.

and what is zomg1234561 anyway?

are you asian?

Yes.. I am asian.
That does so much for me, doesnt it?

As for zomg1234561!! To be honest, its just randomosity.

lol i guessed from your ECs.

id say u have an ok shot.

why do you say okay shot? his 22_ _ SAT will boost him way ahead of everyone else. top 6%??pretty good

maybe except he has an average gpa and poor ECs

Take the ACT's.......many schools, especially in the south, greatly weigh their results.
