I reaaallly want to go to Emory. But the average GPA of incoming freshmen is 3.8, from what i've heard.

Do i stand a chance? Any advice on what i can do? Work harder & beef up my extra curriculars, of course.. I'll be applying for positions next year >.>
What if i work my butt off and get really close to a perfect score for the SAT? Will that boost my chances significantly?

i assume you'll have great SATs scores...SAT IIs....etc, so I suggest you beef up that violin skill. Maybe try out for the all-state orchestra? You can always look at Duke, Vanderbilt, WashU. They're fairly similar to Emory in that they are all in a more southern atmosphere.
