Chance me please

<p>Just wanna hear your thoughts..im not nervous bc im pretty sure i will be denied..so here are my stats:
High School:St.Anthony's HS(very well known school on long island)
GPA:85(3.0)
SAT:CR-580 Math- 520 Writing-(horrible)480 but my essay was an 8 out of 12
Activites: Varsity Ice Hockey/Lacrosse, Pb&J Club(make pb&j sandwiches for the poor), Friar Faithful(co-founder..support all sports at home/away games),Ski club, Summer Job working on construction sites (manual labor), ping pong club,and SALT(St.anthony's leadership team)
Intended Major: Petroleum
Ethnicity: Hispanic(puerto rican)
great letters of reccomendation</p>

<p>So with all this info what are your thoughts..im hoping my major not being very popular and being hispanic would help a lot..and im not there to party im there bc PSU is the only school in the northeast with Petroleum engineering</p>

Leadership, character, scholastic achievement, physical fitness, and a desire to put service above self are common traits of those appointed to the US Coast Guard Academy, as well as the other 4 (USNA, USMA, USAFA, and USMMA).</p>
