Essays: My main one... was about an ice cream truck, and how my neighbors and I had to work together to distract the ice cream truck long enough for all of us to return with money for ice cream. It is about how childhood has shaped us, and we must overcome challenges in life.

I also wrote another one about playing the Ukulele and how my skills in orchestra (which I participated in for two years in high school) carried over, how it is not my ethnic instrument, and how its chords mesh to form my own "tune."

Other essays include:
Life under five feet
Model UN Experiences
How getting diarrhea in India can lead to an interest in water scarcity

Colleges:
Georgetown (EA)
UNC - Chapel Hill (EA)
Cornell
Boston University
Tufts
University of Maryland - College Park (EA)
University of Virginia
University of Wisconsin - Madison

Your SATs look more than solid for the schools you are applying to, try to get 700+ in all your subject tests as well. I think your ECs are great/above average as well since I heard Model UN was a big thing in the east coast. Your main essay sounds great while your second one sounds a little trite, I’m sure thousands of asians have written (bullsh**) about their musical instruments. I think you have a very high chance of getting into Georgetown and your other schools.

Thanks! For georgetown, the ukulele essay was actually one of my shorter ones… and the water scarcity essay was my second long essay.

Anyone else?

shameless bump…

Georgetown (EA)-low low reach
UNC - Chapel Hill (EA)-high match/low reach
Cornell-mid reach
Boston University-match/high match
Tufts-high match
University of Maryland - College Park (EA)-match
University of Virginia-high match/low reach
University of Wisconsin - Madison -high match

Good luck :)

Chance back please!

thank you! :)

I think that you have good chances for everywhere you are applying, i agree that Maryland, Wisconsin, Tufts, and Boston are high matches. I think you also have a great chance at Cornell, UNC Chapel Hill, and Georgetown. You will no doubt get into some great schools, good luck!

Your GPA is kind of low but your SAT score is high enough for these schools. Hopefully your SAT 2s turned out pretty good. Extracurriculars are pretty good too.
