Man ,you are 100% if English is not your 1st language…otherwise your sat cr and writing will cost you the place, the financial aid ,is a completely different thing,it has nothing to do with your grades, except if you are an extremely exceptional candidate with outstanding performance… Your Essay ,will be a significant factor as well as the way you will be describing your ecs…:)

thanks for your thread…yes, English is not my 1st language…does this mean that I am considered for my CR and Writing SAT scores??
I also think that I have done quite a good job describing my ECAs but I’m not quite sure about my essay…

evzonas: OP’s CR and WR are given the same weight as those of any other applicants’. Granted this background will be taken into context, there are many, MANY international applicants with English as a foreign language that score higher than 600 on both CR and WR.

OP: you have a shot as does everyone else. Your GPA and ECs are certainly good but I’d try to raise that SAT score if I were you. I think Swarthmore is need-blind to international applicants as well, so no disadvantage there. I’d say you have a 50-60% chance in EDII.
