Anyone? I will chance you back!

You certainly have the academic stats for these schools, and impressive choir ECs! Research will def help, especially for a BME applicant. Most of the schools on your list are amongst the best in the nation for BME, so competition will be stiff! You’re in the running everywhere, so I hope that your essays were really good to push you over the top. BME ftw :D

MIT-high reach
Stanford-high reach
WashU-low reach
Rice-low reach
Johns Hopkins-high reach for BME, good shot at getting into just JHU
UT Austin-match
Georgia Tech-mid/high reach
Cornell-mid reach
Columbia-mid reach
UPenn-high reach
Duke-high reach
Northwestern-high match/low reach

Chance back please!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1027620-brown-ed-chances-i-chance-back.html

Uhm, JHU, Duke, GT, UPenn, Stanford, and MIT all are in the like top 6-7 BME programs in the nation. If all of those are for the RD round, that competition will be simply brutal. I was especially harsh, yes, I admit, but flaming up like that? Wow. I stated that OP was in the running everywhere and was surely academically-qualified. Read the Columbia ED thread to see how brutal admissions cycle will be this year…and look @ BME rankings for undergrad.

@ OP, I wish you the best of luck, I really do. If my chances seemed harsh, I’m sorry.

dude i’m an indian girl, too and you make me want to cry. your credentials are soo good! and your colleges are great matches for you :)

MIT: a high reach
Stanford: high reach
WashU: match
Rice: low reach
Johns Hopkins: match
UT Austin: you should be fine (dont know much about this)

Cornell: low reach

Duke: low reach
Northwestern: low reach

you have a lot going for you! good luck :)

chance me back?

@big dreamer, yeah I saw the Columbia ED results and flipped out.

You’re right! Columbia was absolute murder. Are you feeling the type of anxiety where you think you need to add a bunch more schools just for fear of not getting in anyway? I’ve been feeling that for like 2.5 weeks now :frowning: I’m keeping my fingers crossed and am excited about getting in somewhere lol. And BME buddies ftw :D

I don’t know how they did it…It seems as though test scores don’t matter anymore :frowning: I’m thinking they looked at the essays first. I feel tempted to add more schools but after finishing my last app (Northwestern), I felt 12 schools was quite enough. I applied EA to MIT, by the way. So we’ll see how that goes…And don’t worry, Brown for you :)

Don’t worry SAT destroyer, SAT scores are still good for something!!! It’s perhaps possible that maybe the kids with relatively lower scores wrote better essays or provided a more interesting aspect to the overall community. Good luck @ MIT  When do you find out? 12 schools does seem like a good enough #, I just am afraid I might have been too ambitious and top-heavy with my list. Thanks for your encouragement :)

I find out on the 16th. crosses fingers Next week is also finals week for me so I’ll already be stressed out lol. Yeah I know what you mean about feeling like you’re having an overly ambitious list. But might as well try, eh? as long as you have one safety?

I have exams next week too! Had my first one today, and totally drained…not feeling studying this weekend lol. I do have 1 safety, but I feel like I need to add like another 2 more. I have some that are good matches too, just all this anxiety overall lol. And defintely might as well try! Only apply to colleges as a senior once!

you have prerequisites, now a matter of chance

Thank you all! I would like more feedback ^_^

Updates:
GPA -3.909 (UW)
EC- Internship at a local newspaper this semester

Word from colleges:
MIT- rejected (oh well)
Georgia Tech- Accepted
UT Austin- Accepted to BME and Plan II Honors (both majors are very very hard to get into  )

hey did you apply ED or something? I didnt know MIT would send decisions so early? I read 20th Match on their website or something…

and congrats on getting in those 2 universities :)

^ She probably did EA.

Anyways, hi. Your chances look very good, and I’m certain (and hopeful) that you shall make it into at least one of the Ivy League schools you’ve applied to. IMO, you’re probably going to get into WashU, Rice and JHU. The rest are reaches, but not too high ones.

I wish you the best of luck. If you want, you could look at my chance thread and chance me too. But I’m pretty hopeless (as my usnername suggests), and my testing scores are pathetic.

well if you consider your test scores pathetic … then well mine are… like… super pathetic :stuck_out_tongue: haha :D

Hey guys, really would like more feedback!

Thanks :)
