-wrote about how I have learned to appreciate diversity from my musical experiences for my common app essay
-tied singing and speaking at a hurricane katrina benefit concert, the inspiration my aunt who died of cancer has given me, my love of biology, and my experiences with various countries and cultures into my Cornell essay</p>

-one was wrote by my biology teacher, excellent (I volunteer in his lab)

<p>My daughter got in to Engineering ED with 710/690/590 - had GREAT grades, amazing essays, EC’s, rank, and recommendations. ANYTHING is possible if you show passions and they can figure out what makes you tick in the app. I really believe they look hard beyond the numbers. Just look at the admissions page FAQ about SAT’s - they actually state that standardized scores aren’t as important as you think…</p>

<p>Thanks for the positive input. My stats seem average based on the applicant pool applying to cornell so I am hoping that my experiences abroad will help me stand out.</p>
