Im going to Apply to William and Mary ED, what do my chances look like?

UW GPA:3.46
W GPA:4.44
SAT:1960
HOOK: Im African American
EC's: Robotics Club, Beta Club, National society for high school scholars, debate club, islandkeepers, 2 summer jobs, 200+ volunteer hours at YMCA and food shelter

The only thing im concerned about is that I got a 74 in Advanced calculus. How much will this hurt my chances?

Bumpity Bumpity Bump

Your uw gpa is quite low, however your w gpa is very good. As for your SAT scores are in line with the Middle 50%. Plus what’s your class rank? That, too, plays a factor, albeit probably not as big as the SAT. Thus, I’d say your chances are a reach-high match.

My class rank is in the top 13%, sucks i know, what can I do to improve my chances?

At this point there isn’t much you can do. All I can say is do well in school your second semester, that way, perhaps, your ranking will get better, and you will then be in the top 10%. Plus if you are in state then your chances are boosted, as well as if you are from a state where they don’t have many applicants. However, perhaps you can write one of you essays about a significant experience or something in one of your clubs. Other than that, your weighted gpa and SAT is on par with the middle 50%. Thus, I’d say you have a decent chance at admission.

It’s a match but it’s up in the air. Getting up scores would be to your advantage. Have you considered the ACT?

Of course, I might be a bit naive if you can’t submit those anymore!

Thanks, Ill take the SAT one more time, fingers crossed
