Chance me please:) !

Ok so here are my stats!

GPA: UW: 3.3 W: 3.7
SAT:1420
ACT: 22
Essay: well written
class rank: 173/753: yeah i know it sucks:/

I've been in 4 different clubs:
B.P.A I was historian for two years
Key club, Very helpful member
enviromental club
Jrotc (not a club, but I was in it) :)

Most of my volunteer hours came from these clubs

other volunteer hours includes:

1.Dog walker in my neighborhood
2. Clean up my local parks in my community
3. Assisted with the elderly at VA hospital
4. Helped to give food to unfortunate families.
5.Assisted in Jrotc with creating different events

I am in state.

Minority

and i did get a scholarship!

I guess that's it!

Is your SAT score the total out of 2400 or just the math and reading part? Kinda hard to say. Your test scores are low but you seem devoted to your EC’s. UF want well rounded students, so I would say you do have a great chance?

Given your stats, I would say that you have a 60 to 80 percent chance of admission. Some great points are your ec’s, that fact that you’re in state and a minority. Your GPA is a touch low for UF, but a lot of people who were admitted to UF say that it’s really about the essay and showing what you would contribute to the UF community. I tend to think that you will be admitted, good luck!!!

^ a touch low?

Hands down, you are rejected, i’m sorry but you are in the bottom 1% of UF excluding athletes. I am sorry to inform you. However there is always that 1-5% chance you could get in, maybe if you make your essay the best of the batch.

I know two kids that got above 2100 and well rounded that got rejected. I know a 7th grader that got 300 points higher than you on the SAT(7th graders can take too)

aviator clearly you know nothing about UF.

UF is in the top 50 Universities, and considered a “Public Ivy”

If you have a really good hook, you might get in. I’m sorry to say, but I don’t see you getting accepted…your UW GPA and ACT/SAT are really killing you. Only about 12% of students get accepted with a ACT of 23 or lower ([University of Florida - Common Data Set](University of Florida - Common Data Set))

Hi everyone again! Indian guy, sorry i forgot your name, thanks for the info, regardless of what you are saying, i believe everyone has an equal chance of getting in if they have a 3.0 or higher. It’s not only based on grades, and test scores, if you read the uf website you would have noticed that:) Also, my gpa has went up weighted and unweighted. The 7th grader thing? If I can remember, I did not ask who got a higher score than me on the SAT, I simply asked if I have a chance. But I really appreciate your honesty! I hope you have a chance of getting into UF also, if you applied, and good luck!! Thanks again :)

^omg, I loved the way you took the negativity and turned it into a positive look. Great job because that wasn’t constructive criticism but pure rudeness. Despite what we might they we don’t make the desicions, UF admission officers do. Good luck! Keep up the optimistic attitude! :)

Thanks fsubound, I learned the hard way, that in today’s world, people do try to bring you down for whatever reason it is. That was a rude comment, and it just made me more stronger:) I still think we all have good chances because UF does look at the student as a person, and not as a gpa! Hopefully most of us who really want this, get those acceptance packages in the mail after feb 11 lol:)

^With that attitude I’m sure you will! Best of Luck :)

thanks, that means alot:) I’ve always wanted to go here

Thank you! aviator  God luck to you too!

fla_marlins, those stats are from 2009.

Smile93- where did you get a scholarship from?

I got one from bright futures:)

Oh okay so have I. I thought you one from a private institution or organization. But bright futures still great. :)

Yep full ride:) It doesn’t matter if it’s for Florida. That’s why I want to stay here, I don’t have to pay for anything! Well I’m sure I’ll pay for something lol but not alot
