Those numbers and a URM make for a pretty strong application (heck, they’d be strong for a non-URM).
Good luck.

^Not a urm, white kid. The composite SAT is worrisome, but the 33 ACT offsets that. GPA is a tiny bit low, but not too low.

I’d say probably, but it’s tough going as a rich white kid coming from NJ. How competitive a HS is this? Bergen Academies?

In my humble opinion:
Academics are fairly good. Like arbiter said, ACT off-sets SAT
My real worry for this app is ECs. Very few. Well-rounded, but nothing super unique. In reality something would REALLY have to stand out on this application, but obviously your academics are going to be better than some others so EHHH, 50/50 chance? Really hard to say with this applicant.

^sorry, in my haste I misread.
As for the SAT, while the 670 on CR is not impressive, the combined 1470/1600 is pretty strong. (Probably roughly equal to the ACT 33?) The scores and curriculum make it clear that this is a math/science type, and the curriculum looks fairly challenging, which is a plus. I think s/he’s a solid candidate (which, of course, means anything can happen).

Thanks for the replys everyone. I go to livingston high school which is very competitive and i know my sats are low but i got a 36 on ACT reading so i was hoping that would help.
