mksh107, your 94 UW equates to a 3.9 GPA, which is within the Emory middle 50%. Your academic rigor looks good. Your SAT total is a smidgen below the Emory middle 50%. See if you can get an ACT score in the range of 30-33, to be within the middle 50% again, or retake the SATs. Your ECs look to be pretty good. Visiting is a great idea, as demonstrated interest can make a difference.

Suggestions: Check out the Emory supplement on the Common Application site. After you attend a class at Emory, email the professor if for no reason than to say thanks, you enjoyed the class and would love to attend Emory. Start thinking about lining up teachers for letters of recommendation, as well as your GC. Touch base with your GC so he/she knows you. Write great essays, and have a trusted adviser review them with you and give you feedback. Can you improve your ECs a little by becoming a captain of the cheerleaders or by becoming some sort of editor of the student newspaper? I think you will have a good chance at being accepted at Emory. Good luck!

Emory academic profile of admitted students 2010:
Academics - Admitted Students
Average GPA, middle 50% 3.74 - 3.99 / 4.0 unweighted scale
SAT verbal, middle 50% 640–740
SAT math, middle 50% 650–760
SAT writing, middle: 650-750
SAT total, middle 50% 1950–2250
ACT, middle 50% 30–33

Chances don’t seem so great unfortunately. Top 20% is bad for top schools unless you go some sort of crazy prep school (which you don’t). If not, you need to be at least top 10%. Because your percentile is so low, it leads me to believe that others at your school have taken more rigorous courseloads than you. SAT is below significantly below average for Emory, and you don’t seem to have any hooks. Extracurriculars seem solid.

Sorry, but it seems like a Reach. Definitely still worth applying though.

@Nighthawk17 - Thanks for the suggestions! Definitely have a few of those already planned
@shockazulu - My grade is pretty small so it’s easy for the percentiles to get bumped around, I think that by the end of this year I should be into the top 10% and my transcripts will show an upward trend. I’m aware of my low test scores (trust me, lol) which is why I probably won’t send my SATs if I get an ACT score that can balance out my grades (over a 31)

Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it!

mksh: check with your guidance office to see if students have been accepted to Emory from your school in the recent past; that will help you to see if your stats fit…Emory looks more at UW GPA than class rank (along w rigor/# of AP courses)…if other kids have gotten it at your level, from your school, you have a good chance…
