Hey so I’m a junior at a California public highschool which is very competitive (ranked #89 for non-charter public schools in the nation) and I am interested in SLO. I visited the campus and took a tour, and the guide said that SLO’s admissions are purely based on numbers. Does this mean that if I am above the average numbers for my major then i’ll have a 100% of getting in?

I will be applying to the Science & Mathematics major, as I want to be a dermatologist. According to the pamphlet that I got on my visit, the avg gpa for this major is 3.97 with a 29 act and 1301 sat.

I have a 9-12 (only through 11th grade atm obviously) of 3.93unweighted and 4.29 weighted

i have a 10-12 gpa of 3.95 unweighted and 4.4 weighted.

which gpa do i apply with?

also, my reading + math sat score is 1410.

my classes next year are: Bio2 AP, Gov AP, Econ AP, Lang AP, and Calculus.

i do 40~50 hours of community service per year as well.

My question is: can I count on having a 100% chance on getting in here?

also, how does the science major here compare with ucsb’s?

thanks guys!
