Chance me please :)

hello everyone.
I’m new, and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the chances of getting into Auburn would be for me.

ACT- 26
English:34
Math:25
Science:22
English:24
(I’m taking the ACT again in September, so hopefully my Science and Math scores with go up a couple points. Does anyone know if colleges superscore the ACT like the SAT?)

SAT-1780
Math: 570
Critical Reading:580
Writing:630

Unweighted GPA: 3.4
Weighted: Something like a 3.7/3.8

EC’s: 4

All honors and AP Classes since freshman year.

Member of the National Honor Society

*Also, I’m out-of-state. I’m from New York. Not sure how that will affect my chances, or anything, but just saying.

I’m also looking into majoring in pre veterinary medicine or biology.
Thanks

Your GPA seems strong and your test scores are okay. A lot of oos students have historically chosen Auburn because of its generous scholarship program. The scholarship program has been dialed back dramatically–this could be really good news for you if you don’t need the $$$ since many oos students may not consider AU now. I think the pre-vet and biology programs are very competitive. You don’t mention extracurriculars except NHS–not sure how this fits into the consideration but most of the kids my d knows who will be starting next month with her have a full complement of things. Good Luck–Auburn is a great school. War Eagle!

OOS admission is tougher, but that’s true anywhere. You have a good chance of getting in, but work on improving your math and science scores – COSAM will definitely be looking for stronger scores from OOS applicants. Abtsmom is most likely correct however, that really strong OOS applicants will thin out next year due to the cut in non-resident scholarship funds.

Thanks for your input
