<p>I'm going to be a junior in hs, and i want to get into cornell engineering badly. I'm an international student, i took ESL for one year.
I slacked off in the first two years of my hs, the grade i got is totally unsatisfied(one B- in history since my english sucks, otherwise i got like B+ or a). I currently have a gpa of 3.5. I talked to my GC and try to take honest classes this year so i can bring up my gpa. IS IT KIND OF TOO LATE? i hope i can get a 3.8 after this year.
I took my first sat and i got a 1810 on it (760 on math), my reading and writing is horrible, but im working on it.
i will have chem h, pre-cal h, phys h for junior year and take the AP course for same subject for senior year. I'm trying my best..i heard admission officers want to see kid having challenge classes.
I joined ptpi group months ago, and im doing volunteer at hospital 3 hours a week.
I will join engineering club and other school clubs more in junior year.
I don't know if this is going to help me, but I have been swimming for 11 years, and i spent almost 3 hours on it everyday(it's also the main reason why i can't do school clubs); im top 10 in nj, ad im only seconds away from junior national cuts. I join hs swimming team, and going to be the captain for next two years(which i think showing leadership i guess)
I did really good in Math class, and my math teacher(who also teaches APcal) said she will write my recommendation, almost every teacher loves me except history teacher :(</p>
<p>That's all i can say, someone please give me some advice, thank you so much!</p>
