Terrible GPA freshmen year, 2.6/3.0.
Sophomore 3.6/3.8
Junior 4.0/4.2
Senior 4.6/4.3 (expected, definitely gonna slack off 2nd semester :))
SAT: 2020
3 years volleyball, 2 years varsity
over 200 community service hours
SAT II's 610/650
My chances please?? (applying undeclared)
Also I'm Hispanic

Can you give me a rough estimate on your cumulative GPA?
The upward trend is a good indicator when the UC adcoms read your application. Your SAT is pretty good, a bit above average. Your involvement in extracurriculars is also a huge plus.
Now, you said that you’re “definitely gonna slack off second semester.” My advice: DON’T. This is a huge mistake, especially if your laziness drags you down way below what you expected it too. In fact, you should just try to finish off as strong as you can your last semester of high school. I’ve seen REAL close rescinscions happen because the student simply “slacked off” their last semester in high school.
With that said, I’m thinking you have a pretty good chance of getting in, given that you write some good personal statements.

65%; I’m 73 % sure

In.

Please don’t slack off your senior year – the college gods disapprove of such behavior.

my UW is only a 3.3, and W a 3.5

You might have a bit of trouble then; polish those essays good.

Chances are good since upward trend is a plus; coupled with volleyball and being Hispanic, that’s even better.
