Yes, I am interested in nursing; specifically, advanced practice nursing. Does that seem weird to you or something? What makes you think all of these schools are such reaches?

well you didnt take many honors classes and had no APs which will hurt you at the top schools but the dual enrollment is a plus. I think you downfall will be your ACT which you should retake in the fall. The Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College of CUNY is competitve so you should aim for a 30 on your ACT. I dont know what state your in but UVA, UNC will be reaches for you and UPenn is a big reach. I think you will be in at Drexel and Penn state and Pitt but im not sure how competitve their nursing programs are.

In regards to the amount of honours classes, it was mostly out of my control. In other words, I took what I could. In my school system, we only have honors math, spanish, and english at the high school level. The only way to get into honors math classes are to begin that track in seventh grade. I know…it’s hard to beleive that they try to determine your mathematical potential when you are in 6th grade, but they do; it’s rediculous! 9th grade, I did well in hon english, so i was placed in honors for 10th and 11th. I didn’t take AP my senior year because I took composition 1 and 2 at the community college, so I would be repeating credit. I have the high honour of being in an Early College, so I think dual enrollment is better than AP in my case.

All you need is the most rigorous box checked. Take two or three APs as a self-study just to show them you can handle the load. It can only help.
