You have a great chance at any I think! Being an URM really helps… Even if you don’t get into all, I’m very confident you’ll get into at least one. Probably most, if you write great essays and have good recommendations. :)

Your extracurriculars and hooks are great!

UGA - I’d say you are in at UGA, based on your SAT, although your reading scores means it’s not the perfect 100% safe safety school.

Georgia Tech & U Chicago - sorry I don’t know enough about these schools… What would your major possibly be?

Which UT? Austin?

U Florida - Florida’s public universities have a cap for what percentage can be OOS, but I don’t know how much that will matter for you with your SAT. However, because 91% had h.s. GPA of 3.75 and higher (that may be weighted…), it isn’t quite a “safety” school (in my opinion, as someone who knows NOTHING). Write them a good essay, because they’ve been known to reject (in-state) students based on them not taking UF seriously with their application.

Notre Dame - The enrolled students profile says 89% are ranked in the top 10% of their class. So your class rank, if you have one, may really matter. Their enrolled students also made around 1370 – 1500 on the SAT (Mid-50 percent score range of reading + math). That said, they may have given the enrolled stats instead of the admitted stats because they looked better or whatever. But yeah, get that SAT up and try to make straight A’s this year if Notre Dame is where you really want to shoot for.

UNC - out of state, without a “hook” like athletic recruitment or legacy is sometimes compared to being as hard (acceptance percentage wise) as Ivy League admissions. Your being Hispanic and 1st Generation is helpful at UNC, because they love diversity there, but don’t have as much diversity as they want. You should apply, but realize that it might come down to people’s essays when they chose which high academic performing out-of-state applicants they actually admit. As far as academics go, if your 3.6 GPA is built from rising rather than falling grades, and no more than 2 C’s, you should be good for UNC. (and apparently, class rank doesn’t matter at all to Carolina, but that’s probably an admissions lie…)

THanks for the input BelleNiente. Yeah, im applying to UT at Austin and im definietely in the top 5% of my class if that helps

Definitley retake SAT

Your good for all except U Chicago.

In:
UGA
GA Tech
U Florida
U Texas

Not Guaranteed, but good chances:
Notre Dame
USC (California)
UVA
UNC (I’m assuming Chapel Hill?)

Smallest chance out of these colleges, but still a good shot:
UChicago

I’d also advise you to retake the SAT if you feel like you can do significantly better than last time, i.e. at least 2100.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I am retaking my SAT and expecting a signifiacntly better score since ive been preparing for the past 4 months for it. If i manage to hit 2200 + do you think there would be any chance for me to be a competitive applicant in the Ivy League pool?
