RD or ED? it makes a difference

If ED then doing SAT 2s in November won’t make a huge difference.

noragon: ED; but i thought Cornell accepts Nov. SAT

ohh, I forgot to put my GPA o_O
GPA: 3.95/4.0

for EC I’ll add Congressional Student Leadership Conference in Medicine & Healthcare (at Georgetown)

Hmm I wouldn’t expect them to I mean decisions come out in December. If you do SAT on Nov 5th wouldn’t it interfere with the application process. The deadline is November the 1st and the SAT 2 is November the 5th. The test date is after the deadline :S.

Nice GPA btw xD. You will probs jump on SAT 1 in October so thats fine I guess. But I’d take SAt 2s in October and the SAt 1 in November and send Cornell updated SAT 1 scores. How can you apply without meeting all test requirments beforehand.

I’m applying to CALS and CAS as my alternative,(gosh, I know I’m always missing something lol)
CALS takes 2 subject tests, 1 in science and 1 in math
CAS takes any 2 subject tests I like

So for SATII I’m cleared. but I think I really need to improve my SAT I, I can see in this forum that everyone who is applying scores at least 2000. that really stresses me out.
I was going to take TOEFL but it costs $1000!! I can’t afford that ><"

so overall, let’s say I have good recommendations and an good essay, do I have a chance?

ARe you applying Early Decision or Regular Decision? Applying ED gives you a pretty distinct advantage.

$1000 lol i’m not taking it either. WHO THE HELL WOULD O.O

cortana 431: Early Decision, I know I have no hope for regular
noragon: I know right, don’t understand why tests are so expensive, and there’s no fee waiver

Policy exemptions:

The TOEFL and/or IELTS requirement for international applicants is waived for students achieving a score of at least 670 on the Critical Reading section of the SAT exam OR for students who have studied for at least four years in the U.S. or other nations where English is an official language. You can request a TOEFL waiver.

quoted from Cornell website PLEASE TELL ME ITS TRUE I CBA FOR TOEFL

If you have achieved a score of at least 670 on the Critical Reading section of the SAT exam, there is no need to request a TOEFL waiver. TOEFL will automatically be waived when we receive your official SAT results.

YES !!!
also quoted

you however have to take it… sorry man. What about that IELTS. Are sure…$1000 is ridiculous.

umm, I’ve been here for 5 years… so that means I dont have to take it right?

Yep I guess so :)

noragon are u a student in Cornell?

btw Harvard and a few other Ivies I have heard from take the Nov 5th SAT for EA/ED even though the deadline it Nov 1st. So maybe Cornell does too  Check their website.

You should probably take the SAT Subject Tests in October.

no otherwise I wouldn’t be ecstatic over not having to take the toefl.

@Jasha that would be great, I’ll ask my admission adviser to make sure Cornell takes Nov. SAT
@goluhaque LOL really? then I think I remember it in HKD currency then, opps! but 170 is still expensive tho, considering SAT only cost $40-50
