Chance me please

First off, I am interested into applying to Brown because I currently live in RI, approximately 10 miles away from the campus itself, and driving by there everyday as it towers down over my favorite pizza joint has only made me all the more motivated to one day attend the university. Being admitted to Brown has been somewhat of a dream in the past, but with my recent test scores and my new self-motivated attitude, I believe I can make it reality.
I plan on majoring in biology or medical science and then attending a grad school for pre-med and Brown has been known to have a superb medical program.

Academics:
I have approximately a 3.8 GPA unweighted, however, this is mainly because I slacked off in 9 and 10 grade, in 11 grade I got well over a 4.0 and had all honors/ap classes.
I plan on have taken 7 AP’s before I graduate

I, like many of the other current students on here, don’t chance people because we know that your stats are only a tiny piece of the application. Your stats seem to be within the right range for Brown.

I’m just curious about your education/career plans. You say you’d concentrate (Brown’s word for major) in biology or medical science? We do have bio, but not medical science. And then go on to grad school for pre-med? Do you mean you’d do a post-bacc year to fulfill requirements for med school? The typical way it works is that students take the classes necessary for admission to med school during their college years, then apply to med schools in their senior year of college. Also, Brown has a program called PLME (Program in Liberal Medical Education) where you can apply to both Brown’s undergrad and med school as a senior in high school. If you’re admitted, you would continue straight on to med school after college, without having to apply or take the MCATs.

Thanks for the feedback. I was planning on just concentrating on biology and then going to grad school for pre-med. Is the PLME hard to get into?

That still doesn’t make any sense. Graduate school is where you go to study one thing in depth. If you want to study medicine in depth, you go to medical school. If you’re concentrating in Biology, you’d be able to fulfill your pre-med requirements pretty easily.

PLME is definitely a difficult program to get into.
