AP Bio: 4
APUSH: 5
AP English: 4
will take AP Gov and AP Calc AB senior year
mostly honors classes besides that

ECs:
1st chair saxophonist in concert band
also a part of Thames Valley Music School Wind Symphony (musicians selected by band directors to play with other teens from the area)
Club president of Habitat for Humanity at our school
Medicine Club (shadows med. professions and holds fundraisers)
Swimming and Diving team
Rowing team
Junior Volunteer at Backus Hospital (selective program that includes and app/interview process)

Work History:
Lifeguard at high school pool, year round
Swimming instructor, year round

I received my school’s French award 2 years in a row, and I also received the AP Scholar award

I would say you would probably get in, your ACT is pretty impressive.
GPA not so good, EC’s don’t stand out that much, but you should still get in if you write a good essay and get good recs

I disagree, your EC’s are pretty good, and you actually have a work history which is good. your GPA (i think) is solid for BC since it’s UW. good luck

GPA: Below average for BC (3.75)
Rank: 10.3%-tile (3.6 and and high rank implies a tough environment)
ACT: 75th+%-tile
APs: 5 taken out of ?? APs available with strong scores
Awards: 2 in language (I’m sorry, but to me the AP Scholar award is tantamount to a participation certificate.)
ECs: Adequate - Sports, leadership & community service (My bias toward ECs is that they’re like whipped cream on a dessert, a nice touch but a lot doesn’t make up for mediocre ice cream).

In short I think you have an average to slightly above average chance of being accepted to Arts & Sciences (B-School or Nursing might be more of a reach). Your weakest link is your GPA so a strong senior year, especially first semester, is a must.
