If you plan to send both, get your ACT up to a 35 and your SAT to at least 2250, or your SAT to 2300 and don’t worry about your ACT, and I’d say you’re in… Even at Harvard. Then again, it’s really a crapshoot for all, but you have amazing chances, with the right SAT or ACT. Really, REALLY impressive musical achievements… I’d definitely send a supplemental recording of one of your musical performances, if I were you.

Wow thank you! Yeah I do pride myself in how much I’m involved in music! I’m definitely sending both, and I’m retaking just the ACT since it was just one section that brought me down to a 33 from a potential 35 (oh well).
For some reason I was expecting like “0% chance anywhere you FAILURE”. It’s nice to have other people’s opinion.

And yes! you’re not the first one to suggest the CD/DVD type supplement. I’m in touch with a recording studio that I’ve gone to before, so that’s on its way.

THanks so much! If you have any “Chance me” threads I’ll be happy to give you my opinion!

Hmm, mine’s on another account and I don’t wanna reveal my secret identity… I’ll post one on here in a bit. Though I’m a junior, so it’ll have predictions as well as actual figures.

Isn’t a 33/36 better than a 2110/2400? I might focus on the ACT and not send the SAT. Your resume is, obviously, solid, but there are a lot of great candidates: nothing is making you pop as someone they’d snap up without a doubt or reject without much thought. So definitely no, not 0%, but getting in is really hard. Good luck!

yeah a 33/36 is pretty much a 2250 on the SAT. I’m definitely concentrating on them. And thanks! It’s a crapshoot really. If I had snap up qualities then I’d probably not post here! But yeah I just hope everything is great enough for my application to be considered as a whole, and I hope they like me!

And as expected, getting in is hard for everyone, me definitely included!

I’m just concentrating on being myself too. None of the things I did on that resume is “for the sake of impresssing college”, and I hope they see that!

Good luck to you too!

I just realized that you currently attend harvard! So good luck…with harvard!

I also had another question: Let’s say I submit all of my SAT II’s. Will they actually handpick those top two that I listed? They range from 650-780, so I hope they do. I didn’t have time to study for every one of them mostly because it was AP season and I had to divy up my time efficiently.

Here’s my chance thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=1211013

Anyone who wants to chance me, feel free.

Can’t you just send the top 2? I’m an old fogey and they change things like that all the time, so don’t ask me for sure, but I thought that that was possible. Also, high 600s in the SAT IIs won’t hurt you any, as long as they are not your highest SAT II. If they ranged from 680 on down, that would indeed be a problem. What other tests are they? If they’re humanities/language, I’d definitely include one of them (if it’s 670+; the 660-650 would be debatable) just to show that you can also perform at a high level in that subject.

All this is riding, again, on whether or not you’re able to pick and choose which SAT IIs you send, on which I do not have any useful information to give. Good luck!
