Yeah that is what I was thinking too. Thanks for the input. I wish my test scores were a little higher. I have a 33 superscored ACT but I could never seem to put everything together in one sitting

I forget, do the UC’s do superscores…? @Doener you said it was borderline; do you mean in terms of SAT/ACT scores? Yeah, they’re a little on the lower side (although, actually, mine were very close to that). 10 AP’s is a nice amount, though, and I don’t know if his scores might help his application (if they’re relatively high, 4s and 5s?)

Some things I found interesting about your background, though:
-I always think diverse backgrounds in people are awesome; white, African roots, Jewish? Cool, there might be a story there I wrote one of my essays on my similar-ish diversity in background
-You have a nice balance in the kinds of ECs you do, which is good!
-Happiness for Holidays? What’s that?

The sat score of admitted applicants at ucb is 2034. So you’re around average. I’m guessing half of Berkeley applicants will have similar ec’s and grades. That’s why a good essay will put you over the top. It also depends on the college you’re applying to! CoE and CoC have higher standards for admission.
