Chance me please.

I am a senior in Colorado, and I have a 3.29 unweighted G.P.A. After my sophomore year, I switched from an IB school to an AP school. Freshman and sophomore years I took all Pre-IB core classes, and in my junior year I took 1 AP class. I have played baseball all my years of high school, and varsity the past two years. I also have an internship with this study abroad company, and I will have a letter of rec from the coordinator. I have around 50 hours of community service, I was a member of national honors society at my old school, and I received honorable mention for academic all state. I received a 26 composite on my ACT (25 English, 32 Math, 22 Reading, and 25 Science).

Thank you so much!

Gosh, hard to say. Have you looked at the Naviance averages for your high school? I looked at the ones for Fairview High School in Boulder and the acceptance average was ACT 27 GPA 3.89. Are you by chance an Under-Represented Minority? (URM)

You are not going to qualify for automatic admission, check with your post grad center to see what those numbers actually are, but your application may be of interest to CU when they take a more holistic look. I would say that with your track record of service, you would want to write a bang up essay about how you are going to bring a dedicated spirit of service to the university (that actually addresses their admission essay). I would do some research about some of the service opportunities at CU and mention them by name.

Good luck.

Agree with cbrand. The gpa is a bit on the low side, but your ACT scores probably hurt you more. Do you have any plans to retake it? If you could raise them a bit, your chances would increase. Cbrand gives some good advice. I would also talk to an admissions counselor at CU to get better information. Good luck to you!!!

26 is well within the average of accepted students!
