Chance me, please!

<p>I feel like I am below the average, although according to UNC's website 50% of NC residents are accepted. With that said, please chance me!</p>

<p>-In state
-Female
-Caucasian</p>

<p>Junior Schedule:
-AP Chem (didn't take exam)
-AP English Lang (4 on exam, scores sent to Chapel Hill)
-Business Computing with UNCG
-The final 4 classes were honors level courses</p>

<p>Senior Schedule:
-AP GoPo
-AP Psych
-AP World Geography
-AP English Lit</p>

<p>Class rank: top 15%
GPA: 4.17
SAT: 1920 (1st try), will retake in November (hoping to receive 2100-2200)</p>

<p>Clubs:
-1 year of junior civitans
-2 years of science club
-1 years of book club
-3 years of deca</p>

<p>DECA - very active involvement (one of the founders of the chapter at my high school), 2 years as treasurer, 1 year as vice-president and head of fundraising, and I have received multiple first place awards at regional and state levels.</p>

<p>So, realistically, how do I sound? Does anyone have any advice on how to make myself stand out or how to work closer towards acceptance at this point? </p>

<p>Acceptance rates don’t mean anything without context of the strength of the applicant pool, and yield rates. </p>

<p>I think you have a chance. Boost those scores up (they are already good) and that ‘might’ put you over the edge. Not being in the top 10% of your class hurts you in the process.</p>
