Hi,
What are my chances for the University of Washington? What others schools should I consider? I want to major in aerospace engineering.
I am a senior in high school.
I have a 3.82 GPA (Ya, I know it is low. I got a 3.5 first semester freshman year because my parents got divorced. I know it is no excuse).
I got a 1980 on my SAT
I am a very strong writer and my dad is even better, so my essays will be strong.
I got 3.6ish freshman year
I got 3.9 Sophomore year
I got 4.0 Junior year (with 2 AP Classes -- Physics and US History)
I am taking 3 AP Classes this year (Literature, Calc., Bio).
I only have 2 years of foreign language.
I got a job at 14 (between freshman and sophomore year) and still have it.
I created my own sno-kone business and went around to events selling sno-kones. Made big bucks! the most I made was $1000 in 6 hours. (that isn't my job stated up above)
I was in top band at school all 4 years
I was in Jazz 1 all four years (Highest jazz band and I was the only freshman in the whole band freshman year).
Marching band 4 years
Pit Orchestra 3 years for my school play
German club
National Junior Honors Society
Brown Belt in Tae Kwon Do (9th belt and 1 away from black belt).
Super kid in Newspaper (big newspaper that covers a lot of people and many people apply for super kid each month).
Tutored math
I got a few outstanding solo awards in 8th grade for jazz band (I don't know if they care because it was in 8th grade).
I was the only 7th grader in 8th grade Jazz band (again, I don't know if they care).
120-135 hours of community service by the time I apply
There is probably some more that I am missing
Tell me what you think!
Oh ya, I'm from Washington.
Thanks!
