Chance me please?

Hi guys,
I'm an eighth grader applying for ninth grade to Lawrenceville, Peddie, Hun, Princeton Day School, maybe Stuart and one or two schools in Connecticut or Massachusetts.
Thanks for taking the time to read this!

-I currently have all A's in all of my subjects and have been getting them since fourth grade, with my lowest grade last year being around 93%.(Our school system starts letter grades then and our highest grade is an A).
-My favorite subject is Language Arts and my teachers have told me that I'm a proficient writer.
-I fence foil competitively for around a year now and am pretty decent in it. I also swim competitively.
-I am thinking of trying out for the track team this year, since I have always been one of the faster kids in my grade.
-I am very passionate about art. Many have told me that I have a knack for it and it is something that I love to do.
-I am Indian, however I lived in Hong Kong for two years and I have learned Mandarin since I was 5.
-I know around 4 languages: English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Bengali. I am also able to more or lessly read and write in Korean.
-I'm a very warm and outgoing person.
-I haven't taken the SSATs yet, I will be taking them next month, however I'm hoping for a perfect score in math.
-I have played the violin for 5 years. I also sing and I have perfect pitch.

Also, I was wondering if you guys could recommend a good prep school in Connecticut or Massachusetts that has a good art program. I haven't decided yet if I am going to apply there, but I want to consider some. Also, if there are any students who have or are going to the schools I listed above, can you tell me how the student life is like? I want to go to a school with a warm inviting feeling. :)

Thanks so much for reading this and I hope to hear from you soon!

Oh, I also forgot to mention that I listen to music from all over the world. I listen to Korean, Japanese, Chinese, English, Italian, Spanish, Serbian, Hindi and many more :D

Hi. I am also applying for Lawrenceville.
Overall, my grades are pretty good, either A’s or A+'s. However, I know these schools like students who are active with their extracurriculars, but my school’s are a little weak. I’m also taking the SSAT next month, in November! I take Spanish in school so thats practically the only other language I know lol. But I have interviews in December. But my main worry is the SSAT. Do you know any way I can study for it? I did the SSAT official guide. I also did Kaplan and Barron’s. I don’t really think there is much to study, since the practice test is mostly straightforward. Any tips on raising my vocab? Reading Comp?

sandol1010,
Well, I’ve just been going to a class that’s been helping me with my vocab. I’ve just been looking at the vocab books and taking practice tests. The more practice tests I’ve done, the more confident I feel
Maybe I’ll see you during the test! That would be interesting, lol

Thanks for replying so quickly! lol I’m in eighth grade as well. I also swim competitively. I love art as well. I am just nervous for the admission essays :/

Sure, no problem, sandol1010 ^^
Wow, we have a lot in common! I’m nervous for the essays as well, but I’m sure you’ll do fine :)

:) lol thanks, and ditto! I think your writing skill is pretty important too. And they would be impressed by your MULTIPLE language speaking. You should show them a portfolio of your art work and things like that! They would be impressed by your love of art. And btw. Check out hotchkiss. It sounds like a very welcoming school as well.

haha thanks xD I actually am setting up a sketch book to show the schools. By the way, I’ll check out Hotchkiss, I’ve heard its an amazing school :)

Bump… please, if you could just help me, or give me an idea, it would be great!

Hey, i’m also applying for 9th for Exeter, Andocer, deerfield and Lawrenceville
i think u are a great guy, but most of the weight is in recommendations and essays, so even with great stats, a bad recommendation or a stink essay can destroy your chances.

don’t rely on chance threads.

@Mytherrus, thanks for your inputs ^^ I’ll make sure to write good essays and I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to get good recommendations from my teachers. I’m just using the chance threads to get a slight idea.
