Chance me please!

Alright I know this is a huge reach but I just want to know if I should even try to apply..

My GPA is not good. It's a 3.44/4.0 and my school adds 10 points for AP classes.

My SAT score is 1950 superscored.
700-math
640-critical reading
610-writing

I've taken 5 AP classes before this year (I'm a senior) and this year I'm taking 3 Ap classes
I didn't do that good on my AP tests. My only passing scores were on US history and Biology which I got a 3 on both.

The only thing that I have really going for me is my extracurriculars
-Varsity soccer for the past 3 years and I was the captain last year ( I've won a bunch of awards)
-I don't know if this counts for anything but I have played club soccer every year since I was 4 which takes up a huge amount of time during the week.
-Dacula Leadership team ( I am a sophmore mentor through this)
-I'm on math team this year
-I have been in Math honor society for the past two years
-I help tutor kids in math three days a week
-I went on a mission trip to Haiti last summer
-I'm heavily involved in my church youth group
-and I was in Spanish club my freshman year

I hate to say it, but you’re chances aren’t great. Your gpa and scores just might not cut it.

Okay I know my chances might not be great for Emory but what about Oxford? I know their stats for incoming freshman are lower than Emory so I might have a better chance of getting in. Or should I just try to go somewhere else and transfer in to Emory after one or two years?

doesn’t hurt to apply… If I were you I would ED oxford, and then if that doesn’t workout apply somewhere else and transfer.

Thanks for the advice I might just do that

You have a good chance of being accepted at Oxford. Your stats are maybe a bit higher than last year’s average. However, you’ll still need to demonstrate interest, and ED would be a great way to do that. At the same time, I’d encourage you to do your homework and make sure that you’re really ready to commit to coming here. Applying ED is a big decision to make about anywhere.
