Chance me please!

Okay so I REALLY want to know my chance at Lehigh. I want to apply as a biology major and go pre-med. Also, I'm a junior at a public school.

2100 SAT (first time taking it)
740 Math, 660 CR, 700 Writting

91 GPA - unweighted
(about 3.6)
98.5 weighted

By the time I graduate I will have taken 10 AP classes out of the 11 my school offers.

EC / CC:
- Peer Leader (very involved - I mediate issues, mentor new members, and help new freshmen)
- Anti-Bullying Committee (sub group of peer leaders)
- Key Club (officer position end of this year through next year)
- CCD teacher
- Job at a gym watching kids (28 hrs / week)
- Director of Communication and PR for a local nonprofit benefiting pancreatic cancer research (I'm a cofounder and board of trustee member)
- Lighting technition for all school plays and musicals
- I am going to Brown University's "So You Want To Be A Doctor?" over this upcoming summer.

I have great relationships with my teachers, 4 or 5 of which I am requesting a letter of recommendation from.

I have expressed interest in Lehigh for a long time now: visiting, emailing, touring, etc.

Thanks SO much for reviewing this, I am overly concerned about my chances.

Anyone? Thanks xD

Hey Lehigh2017,

I think I may have answered some of your questions before. Are you the guy that has Lehigh alumni as teachers? Anyway, let me answer your question.

You are definitely too worried. I think you’re a shoe-in. SATs are high, GPA is good, APs are good, and your ECs are impressive. And interest - as I always say - is the most important thing you can demonstrate in an application to Lehigh.

I think you’re in for sure.

Let me ask you a question, if you don’t mind. My sister is a junior now as well and she wants to go pre-med as a biomedical engineer. What other schools did you apply to for pre-med? If all things were equal, which school would be your first choice? From your point of view, do you think Lehigh is a good pre-med university?

Thanks,

LehighChemE, I am very much too worried, I agree. Anyway, yes you answered a few of my questions before. Lehigh is most definitely my number one choice due to my restrictions (distance, size, major, etc), but if all things were equal, it would be a tie between Lehigh and Princeton (Princeton matches all the same restrictions, but I do not believe I could get in and thus I wouldn’t waste my early decision on them). The other schools I am applying too are Bucknell, Hopkins, Cornell as a stretch, and Lafayette as my safety. I really feel like you can’t go wrong with Lehigh, even though they aren’t known for pre-med, a biology degree (or biomedical engineer in your sisters class) from there will prepare you very well for med school in my very unofficial opinion.

I really appreciate your input; the reason I am so concerned is that I am devoting every hour of every day (save 2 or 3 hours) to school, work, and extra circulars, so I want to make sure I am doing it efficiently and not wasting my time. I am also the kind of person that over-plans - something you, a person I’ve never met, can probably tell pretty easily about me!
