Chance Me Please!

Just applied EDII, a little worried about my chances, wondering if anyone could give me their opinion.

At the end of this year I will have taken a total of 13 AP tests
I am currently a National Merit Semifinalist
ECs:
Music- every group available at my school. Marching band student leader, principal trombone in Symphonic Winds and Orchestra, member of Choir/Choir Ensemble, lead role in musical, All-District Band and Choir, County Band, Orchestra, and Choir
For the past 3 years, I have been a member of my county’s drug and alcohol commission Youth Advisory Board, and I have been a member of the leadership team for the past 2 years.
This past summer, I received a National Security Language Initiative for Youth scholarship and studied Chinese in Shanghai for 6 weeks.
I plan to major in Chinese and International Relations. I have recommendations from my Chinese teacher and my AP Comparative Government teacher, and my essays are mostly centered around my trip to China and how it has influenced my future plans.
Taking all this into consideration, what do you think my chances are?

Oh and I forgot to add this in but in terms of rank, I am 22 out of 565 in my class which puts me in about the top 4%.

You appear to be a strong candidate- to me at least- in terms of the colgate.edu site’s profile of accepted students from last year. Right? So now all you have to do in convince the decision makers in the admissions office with your essays and recommendations.

Good luck!

I think your chances are pretty good, especially since you applied EDII

You look pretty impressive, and I imagine you will have a very good chance at Colgate as well as at many other colleges. Good luck!

If you don’t need FA I suspect you will be a “slam-dunk.” Best wishes!
