I know the applications were supposed to be turned in by December 1st; however, I'm really stressing over whether or not I'll get it. So, any help would be greatly appreciated!

-Out-of-State
-3.9 W GPA-->probably lower now, but it shouldn't be by much
-ACT: 23
-Really strong essays (talked about Amnesty International and the other was about being Muslim)
-Bad activity log. Well, in my opinion. I say this because they weren't a paragraph long and I was rushing.
-Group Coordinator/President/"Founder" of an Amnesty International club at my school
-Nominated for the National Council of Teachers of English nationwide writing competition
-Karate for 10 years, 2nd degree black belt, represented club at a regional competition and placed 1st and 2nd.
-Full IB Diploma Candidate

Overall your gpa is decent, but not amazing either. Your ACT is very low though compared to the UW average, did you take the retake in December? Unfortunately, the average OOS applicant has higher stats than in-state. That’s not to say you don’t have a chance, your EC’s look good and you state that your essays are good. Another important factor is your courseload (AP, Honors, Running Start, College in High School). Your kind of 50-50 to me, but one good thing is that UW has a holistic approach to reviewing applicants, so they don’t just look at numbers. Anyways, hope you get in. I’m a fellow muslim as well ;).

-Out-of-State
-4.0 UW 4.6 W GPA
-ACT: 29
-SAT: 2020 710 M 680 CR 630 W
-Really strong essays
-Strong Activity log
-NHS for three years (President), Science bowl two years (President), Science Olympiad (President), Robotics (Founder/President), German Club (VP)
-Rotary Student of the month, AP Scholar w/ distinction, A lot of in school honors
-Piano for ten years, soccer for eight, tennis, state badminton champion

FYI, a message to all the out of state students, not anyone in particular. A lot lot of people have the misconception that you can get accepted to the UW from OOS with lower grades than in-state. But that’s hardly true. There are still a ton of people with good applications from OOS who are arguably equally deserving of a spot at the UW as in-state applicants. Also, from personal experience, I haven’t met anyone from OOS who had grades that were abnormal compared to my in-state counterparts.
