Hi there! I'm a senior in high school, and I'm really interested in attending WashU next year. I've applied to the school of architecture, and am wondering my chances of acceptance.

My unweighted GPA is 3.9007
My ACT composite is a 32
SAT score is a 2140

I am a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist, and I will find out whether or not I am a finalist either this month or next. (I have heard that nearly all semifinalists become finalists).

I've been involved with my school's science club, architecture club, a service organization known as Operation Others. I am a member of Spanish Honors Society, as well as various other awards and programs that I put in my application.

What do you guys think my chances of acceptance are?
Thanks!!

As you don’t elaborate too much on your EC’s, I can’t say much for sure. If you are extremely passionate and show depth/leadership in a couple of them, then you have a pretty good shot, assuming recs/essays are good.

it probably depends on the difficulty of your school / class rigor. but id say your chances are pretty good your gpa is really solid haha unlike mine (even though im applying to washu next year probably)

Wait a little bit longer than 18 minutes before bumping next time…

GPA is good, but your SAT and ACT scores are below average for Wash U. Also, you mention you are involved with several clubs at your school but unless you have any leadership positions it’s going those activities aren’t going to do much for your application.

My school is a private Jesuit college prep school, and I’ve taken pretty difficult AP and honors classes.

My weighted GPA is a 3.92.

I’m glad you think I’ve got a good chance! I’m sort of doubting myself, but I really wanna go to WashU! And you’ve still got time to pull up your GPA if you apply next year!

the fact that your weighted gpa isnt that high may be a problem considering no other aspect of your application really stands out (im just trying to help – i know this sounds kinda mean)

so try & establish a theme in your application that really conveys your passion for something the school has to offer & how it will benefit you in the future. also good recs :)
