I'm an OOS student. I live in California. I know my GPA isn't high, but I hope that my extracurriculars and essays will help. I didn't do very well during my freshman and sophomore years, but I got high semester GPAs during my junior year. Please chance me! Thank you! :)

For what it is worth, I would say in for sure! You seem very well rounded. Your GPA is high, your SAT score is high and your EC’s are fantastic!

You’re in surely high GPA, SAT and fantastic EC’s

@tessey64 and @creamania: Thank you both for your replies! :)

Glad to see another Taiwanese applying :] Most likely in!

@dabober: Thanks! Good luck to you too! Also, have you heard of the AID Summer in Taiwan program? Just curious because I am applying for that in a few days.

Class Ranking doesn’t affect admission. Seems like you have a good variety of EC’s (although you only had to mention 5 :P) and AP classes (which make up for a 3.5 GPA, if you’re worried about it. It’s still pretty solid!). I wouldn’t sweat it too much, you fit the profile  good luck!

If you come to UW, be sure to join Taiwanese Student Association and/or get involved with Taiwanese Overseas Student Association! ;)

@themusiciangirl Yes, I’m also applying to AID program this coming month!

@yooooo1994: Thanks for the reply! Good luck to you too! :)

@speedsolver: I’ll look into them if I get in and decide to go to UW, thanks! :)

@dabober: Good luck to you!

well, that was bizarre^. Truly, I’m rather surprised the prudent even bothered to apply to UW, considering his qualifications and all. You seem like a shoo in to me, and I hope you do, because, going off of your EC and all, you seem awesome.
Best of Luck( not that you will need it)

Cheers!

ps- @Yooooo1994- Class rank is no consideration? That is good news indeed!( good SAT and EC, but from a very small, very academic HS)

@Moooah: Haha I saw his reply on my email notifications… that was definitely bizarre. And thanks so much! Best of luck to you as well! :)

Seems like you have a good chance. Really the only thing that would strengthen your application is a higher GPA but your GPA isn’t even low  Good luck!!

A classmate of mine did the Taiwan summer program and she said it was horrid, btw.

Hope to see you make it.

@themusiciangirl Good luck to you too! I heard it’s not easy to get into because of the number of people applying.

@XaviFM Hopefully, that won’t be the case for me. The program sounds fun from the reviews I’ve read.

I was told the trip was enriching and fun, but that the academic portion was horrid.
