Obviously you do not understand that some of us, no matter how good are stats are, seriously and legitimately fear rejection. I have a 2020 SAT and UW3.83 W3.96 GPA, yet I fear rejection because of so many circumstances you wouldn’t know about. I don’t think anyone comes here to get an ego boost.

First of all, thank you to everyone who gave me legitimate responses.

@Crest1993- Yes, I know I have good test scores and extracurriculars, but I don’t think my GPA is within the normal range for UMD. I’ve become paranoid about this process as I’ve gotten deferred from 3 schools so far, one safety, one match, and one reach, and at this point am not going to college. So no, I’m not just making this thread so people can “suck my D” a little more. I am just paranoid and want some assurance and honest opinions.

Again, thank you to everyone else who gave real responses.

With your stats, I don’t think anyone should reject you… are you sure your essay was good? maybe you should post it… >< Like not trying to be offensive at ALL i’m just surprised u got deffered to your safety!!!

Well haha the safety was kind of a fluke on my part. It was for a school that I never even wanted to go to in the first place. I started the application 3 hours before the deadline and didn’t even do any of the optional essays. My college counselor told me he was surprised I didn’t get rejected if I didn’t even do any of the optional essays. I was also deferred from University of Michigan which was my match school; my grades at the time of applying just weren’t good enough but they probably are now. And I also got deferred from Duke Early decision because, well, it’s Duke. My essay is very good though, at least that’s what i’ve been told. i have no idea what admission counselors might think haha.
