I was deferred from Georgia Tech and I was wondering what my chances are of getting in!

I have no idea about ACT scores, and I’m not in the mood to convert them right now. Is the 8 on the writing section correct? Even if that is supposed to be a 28, I feel like your ACT scores are still a little on the low side too.

That’s not to say that you have no chance, just that you shouldn’t plan your future like you’re going to be accepted.

I’d say your chances of getting in are decent, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up just yet. Its hard to tell who will get accepted each year because generally the GPA’s and ACT scores go up. The average of tech is 28 act and 3.8 gpa for last year, so expect it to go up slightly.

*The mid-50% ranges are the 25th-75th percentile of GPA, SAT, and ACT for our most recent entering class. These should be considered our competitive ranges.

Tech only accepts your math, English, and combined English/writing ACT scores, so that would give you a 26 ACT. I don’t know if that’s GT GPA, or your regular unweighted GPA, but if it’s your GT one, it’s a little low. I don’t know anything about the IB program because my school only offered AP, but I’m sure that’ll help and you have pretty good ECs. I’d say there’s an okay chance you’ll get in but I would definitely have another school in mind.
