Chance me please?

<p>Hey I was hoping for some advice on my chances for Cornell
School: ILR</p>

<p>Currently a junior</p>

<p>GPA (Out of 100): 92
SATs: 2170 w/superscore. M: 710 W:750 R: 710
ACT: 34 W: 35 M: 33 R: 33 S: 33
APs: Sophomore Year: Euro (4)
Junior Year: Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, US History, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Language and Composition (havent taken the ap exams yet, but i will in may)
Senior Year Schedule (Subject to Change): Pyschology, Biology, Calculus AB, American Government, Comparative Government, Spanish </p>

<p>I will post extracurriculars if need be, but I’d prefer not to</p>

<p>Your grades are pretty good but if your EC’s are really that shameful (…) I really can’t tell you for sure your chances.</p>

<p>solid stats. with good ec’s & supplement, id say youre app is competitive. all the best. PS- go ED if Cornell is really your first choice.</p>

<p>^^my ECs arent bad, I’d say theyre good but i was mostly wondering based upon my stats.

<p>Stop with these threads. It’s random. You may get accepted you may not. Asking random students on forums if you will get accepted to a university, especially an ivy league university is like asking a bum the best way ti save money, you will get no where.</p>

… not a valid analogy
anyways, yeah your stats are competitive, but they are far from outstanding. Just make sure you have at least 2 solid ECs to talk about to get a realistic shot…</p>

Maybe not the best analogy but the point I’m trying to make is that it doesn’t matter what random teenagers say on a forum. They know just as much as you do in terms of your chances. He best advice I can give you is to apply and see whether or not you get accepted. Or if you don’t feel comfortable with that, ask admission officers or students that got accepted to the school what their stats were.</p>

<p>Yes chancing threads aren’t the most accurate since the reality is either you get in or not. However, stats are far from everything, especially for specialized schools like architecture or hotel management.</p>

<p>Chance threads are subjective by their very nature. If my daughter posted her stats before her senior year, she would be told she did not stand a chance at Cornell. She did take away all of the great advice about improving her chances from other posts, however, and they paid off. My advice about chance threads is there is always a back-story to consider. There is never a one size fits all for the typical Cornellian and that’s why it’s up to the student to demonstrate that they do, in fact, stand a chance and deserve a spot at Cornell.</p>
