Chance me please?

I want to get into Newman or the Commonwealth School, I don't know if I should try though. I come from a small city that's not particularly known for it's academic achievements. My public school system is okay but the high school is horrible. Anyways, I would appreciate if you guys could tell me what my chances are for getting into one of these schools or if you can point out some more schools in the Boston area. I live about 15 minutes away from Boston, I don't think the commute would be a big problem

My school uses the number grading system instead of the letter ones. A one is a failing grade and a five is a grade that means you went above expectations. Three is average. Two is a warning and a four is the equivalent to an A.

My last two report cards (and most of my earlier ones) went something like this:

English: All fives
Math: Three fours and two threes.
Science: Four fives and one three.
History/Social Studies: Four fives and one four.
MCAS Prep (You only get two grades for this): Two fives.

Then I got all A's and fives in student participation and effort.

My school doesn't have a lot of extracurricular activities. All we have is a choir, student government, and this program where you go down to the lower grades once a week and help them. I'm involved in that program and I'm a representative in student council.

I've been doing archery for about 6 months now. I really enjoy it but besides that I don't do any sports.

Oh, I'm also fluent in English and Portuguese, I don't know if that matters but you never know. Do I have a chance? How hard is it to get in? Do you know of any other schools? Thanks in advance

BTW: I'm in seventh grade right now and can get some recommendations from a few teachers. I'll be applying for financial aid and I got a 245 out of 260 on a state math test and a 248 out of 260 on the English one. Which were one of the highest grades in the class. I'm from Brazil (born there), if that does any good.

***Sorry for the re-post. I do realize I said eighth in the other post but I meant seventh.

It will help that you know English and Portuguese a little bit, and your grades don’t sound bad either  I think that you have a couple good EC’s, but maybe you should find a few more, because that would definitely put you in good shape.
I don’t know all that much about the schools you are looking to get into, but I’m sure you have a good chance. Are you allowed to board next year? If so, then there are a lot more schools that you could apply to!
Good luck! ;)

@cttaftie16: I’m finding it odd how you’re replying to the chance threads now that it’s past March 10, just saying :D.

@EnemyOfTheSun: she’s only in seventh grade, so I thought that I would reply.
