Chance me, please?

I'm a white male from Pennsylvania. I go to one of the best high schools in the state, it's the only blue ribbon high school in PA and has earned many other distinctions. I'm currently a junior. After slacking early, I've become far more mature and I've been trying to get my GPA back up.

I have a 2.6 GPA right now. I got a 1640 on the SAT my first attempt and am taking them again. I'm also planning on taking the ACT and hoping for a 29 or better. I plan on writing an essay for each college I apply to as I've always been a great writer and feel I can better my chances by doing so.

I plan on applying to:

Indiana University Bloomington
University of Missouri
Michigan State
Syracuse
UMass - Amherst

Which are realistic? Which are reaches? What are some recommendations?
BRUTAL HONESTY PLEASE.

Thank you guys.

Definitley get your ACT scores up, to offset your GPA. Syrcause and University of Missouri are going to be reaches, and the rest are matches.

Thanks SeattleBulldog, I’ll definitely work hard to get a high ACT score.

Anyone else?

Come on, guys. Somebody’s gotta have some input or recommendations.
