Ummm… I don’t think you have enough extracurriculars and your SAT and ACT scores are really lacking. I’m sure The Aveda Institute Chapel Hill would take you though…

(PS- I’m kidding. You’ll get in. And if not, you’ll get in somewhere else impressive, like Emory.)

I would say you are in. Chapel Hill’s OOS admissions is VERY competitive, but I think you have what it takes. You are going for a very limited number of spots. When I took a tour of Chapel Hill they said that they accepted around 1000 out of state students last year.

Thank you both for your kind and helpful responses!!

I’m going to be visiting UNC next week and I can’t wait to see it in person. :)

You’re welcome, and have fun! It’s a great campus! :D

Everything looks really good, but if there’s anything to bring you down, it’s the unweighted GPA. If your essays and rec’s are solid, I think you’ll get in. Good luck! :D

Make sure your essays are great–I think you’re in though. Very impressive SAT, congratulations!

Thank you!! You UNC people are so nice. :D

My son is a UNC student (OOS). Based on your numbers, i think you have an excellent chance of getting in to UNC. Good luck and have fun on your visit. Chapel Hill is a beautiful place to be and the people are the nicest that i have come across. My son loves it there.

I just got back from my visit and I LOVED it. I really think UNC is the place for me!
