Misc.:
High demonstrated interest
Strong essays
Great recs
I usually do well in interviews

GPA is a little low, but you’re still top 10%. All of your other stats and ECs are good. So you have an above-average chance, but you don’t have anything that stands out a lot (like major awards, interesting ECs, etc).

I’m unsure what you mean by “high demonstrated interest.” If you mean that you are going to apply to Brown Early Decision, then I think you will have a better shot.

Work on those essays but be sure to enjoy your summer!

Thank you for the advice! I’m looking into opportunities that will hopefully make me stand out. I feel like I’m kind of a bland candidate without any sort of “hook”.

I should have elaborated on demonstrated interest. By that I mean that I have requested information, visited, etc. I’ve heard that colleges keep track of that kind of stuff. I’m not sure if that’s true, but I figured it was worth a shot.

I’ll definitely be working hard on my essays :)

Very Very low chance with your class rank and GPA. Very likely will get denied.

cortana, once again, you don’t know what you’re talking about! The OP has strong standardized testing which might help to make up for the GPA.

abcecex3, you have strong enough stats to apply! For reference Cortana, a “very very low chance” is like a 1900 SAT, 3.4 GPA, bad EC’s.

Hmm i live in RI so my opinion is probably skewed but i’ve seen people get in with a lot less, at my school kids frequently get in with approx 3.8 GPAs unweighted, decent ECs, and APs much worse than yours (maybe only 3-4 APs by the end of Jr year). So i think you have a decent chance, but then again, i live in RI so its easier to make brown connections here (brown is like a 20 min drive, 1hr bike ride away… just like everything else in this godforsaken state)

[Admission Facts | Undergraduate Admission](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University)

You sound like YOU don’t know what you are talking about. ^Obviously there is a significant correlation between top 10% and being 1 and 2 in the class… and I’m willing to bet that the good majority of those accepted in the top 10% are actually in the top 5% or 1%. For top schools, test scores do NOT make up for class rank. OP has about average EC’s too. It is possible, but I just dont see the OP getting into Brown.

Really? “Above average chance” with a top 10% class rank? Yes, I really believe you really don’t know what it takes to be competitive at schools like Brown.

Oh snap. Something’s going down.

Congratulations on all you have accomplished thus far. Honestly, all you can do now is focus on putting together a very strong and unique application…there is no telling your exact chance, but you should certainly go for it. I mean, there is nothing to lose. I will be attending Brown in the Fall, and I am positive that my essays and out-of-school successes made all the difference. Be sure to let them know who you are and what makes you different from the 29,000 other applicants. Creativity, individualism and boldness are all qualities valued by Brown. The admissions staff simply wants to learn who you are and what you can bring to campus. Best of luck!
