Well, if the OP is still interested, I’ll give my two cents. Obviously, your test scores are very strong, which, to be honest, is more of a prerequisite to get into Columbia than a hook. That GPA seems like its on the low side, but I’m obviously not really familiar with your school and its grading policies / competitiveness. You’re course load, though, seems up to par for an Ivy League institution. Founding the Science Club and Homework Helpers Club is definitely a boost on your resume, as it shows your are willing to take initiative. However, founding something like Science Club would be more beneficial if you had accomplishments backing up its success. Honestly, the international exposure doesn’t mean that much in college admissions. In general, opportunities requiring significant financial backing from one’s family are not incredibly impressive. Also, being Indian (which I’m assuming from your birthplace/username) doesn’t help. To sum up your chances it a short statement, I would say you’re borderline- Columbia is probably a reach school for you. But definitely apply- anything can happen!
