Chance me? Please!

Hi guys :)
I just completed my junior year of high school and was wondering about my chances for certain colleges.

SAT -- 2200 (700 CR, 700 Math, 800 Writing) -- will take again in October!
ACT -- haven't had time to take them. I will be taking them in September
GPA -- 4.06 (weighted) I've had a few B's throughout high school.

Classes--I took all honors classes in ninth grade. I took three honors classes and two APs in tenth grade. Four APs and one honors in 11th. 5 APs and 1 honors in 12th. Like I said before, I've had a few B's.

EC's
3 year member of my school's speech and debate team. 2 year team captain
State finalist in Speech and Debate
VP of my school's JSA Chapter
VP of my school's environmental club
Member of NJHS and NHS
Cabinet Head of the Staff App Committee in Ninth Grade
Cabinet Head of Coat Drive for NJHS in Tenth Grade
Volunteer at local hospital since ninth grade
Paid Intern at afforementioned hospital. Doing summer research (it's a very prestigious program--only 8 were accepted out of the 150 that applied)
Violinist in school's orchestra for two years

Colleges I'm planning on applying to (the list will be shortened when I actually apply in the fall):
Yale (has always been my dream school--I understand that this is a really high reach)
Brown
Cornell
UPenn
UNC Chapel Hill
Pitt
Northwestern
Penn State
UChicago
Duke
University of Michigan
NYU
Case Western
Vanderbilt

Thank you so much! I appreciate any and all opinions!

What is your class rank or estimated percentile?

My school doesn’t give us class ranks (to my knowledge). But, my class has about 650-675 kids in it. So I would assume that I am somewhere in the top 10%. But I’m not sure.

I live near Philadelphia so I’m in-state for Penn State and Pitt (if that helps at all).

Stats:
Your SAT is not horrible, but for someone who does NFL, I would expect a much higher CR score. Also, if you have taken Calc BC before, then the math score is fairly bad. You should look into improving both of them ASAP. I would suggest doing practice tests galore over the summer. They don’t need to be perfect, but for your dream school, Yale, they should both be above 730 just to be safe.

As for GPA, 4.06 weighted is pretty bad; or at least it would be at my school. How does your school calculate GPA. If they add less than half a point for honors/AP then it isn’t too bad, but still. It would be much easier with UW GPA. Besides most colleges will look at UW GPA and then compute the weight from the course rigor based on the number of APs and Honors as well as your school’s testing performance. Some context would really help! (BTW don’t assume or guess at class rank. ever. it mixes up everyone else on CC and it really hurts your chances if you overestimate. If you ever have to make class rank up, always be conservative)

ECs:
You do have some leadership which is good. I don’t know how hard PA FL is, so I can’t really place the state ranking into context, but if you were only finalist, then schools like Yale won’t really use it to rank you among the other debaters in your state anyway. Really, the only EC you have that stands out as really good is the internship. Do you know if you will be published and if so, will it be in a nat. science publication? If you are, then it will be really really good for you. Otherwise, your EC probably won’t get you into Yale.

Overall, unless you write the best essays in the world, you don’t really have the greatest chances at some of top tier schools you listed.

Here is my overall classification

Yale - High reach
Brown - High reach
Cornell - Mid to high reach
UPenn - High reach
UNC Chapel Hill - Low to mid reach
Pitt - Guessing low reach
Northwestern - Low to mid reach
Penn State - Low match or safety
UChicago - Reach
Duke - Reach
University of Michigan - High match
NYU - Match to high match
Case Western - High match
Vanderbilt - Low reach

I would recommend you look at the UC system. Cal is better than basically every school on your list save for the mid to upper tier Ivies. Plus since your out of state, Cal will be an easier school to get in than if you were instate, assuming you can pay for all $54,000 in tuition and board. Plus you only have to fill out the one app and you can send it to more match schools like UC Irvine, UC Davis, UC SD etc.

Good luck!
Chance me back?

I can’t believe I forgot this, but I have been on the Varsity Girls Soccer Team since freshmen year. I don’t think I’m good enough to be recruited, though…
