Stand a very good chance…GPA is above average, ACT score is about average maybe a little low, subject tests scores are good, in state applicant helps, and since I don’t have too much info on the ECs I don’t know what to say about them but other than that I think you will get in.

UW gpa is typically out of 4, but I dont see any B’s so I’ll assume you have a 4.0. The ACT range for UMich is 29-33 so if you can increase your score by a point or two I’d say you have a great shot.

shazam02, The ACT range that Michigan posts in their “Admitted student profile” page does range from 29-33, however, the enrolled student profile also published by Michigan in the Common Data set shows the ACT range to be 28-32. Obviously there is a difference between “enrolled” and “admitted”.

I am aware of that, thank you.

In state, female, engineer

I think you stand a pretty good shot.

How is your UW GPA above a 4?
How did you get an A+ in practically everything and then a 28 on the ACT?

For a number of reasons, the ACT is not always an accurate predictor of academic performance. The OP’s situation is not unique. cc does not provide a random sample of test scores because not many posters are anxious to post their low test scores.

I understand that but still, that seems like a big drop off from classroom performance to ACT. I know not everyone is great at taking tests but if you were rocking pretty much 100% in every class you’d think that person would be a good test taker.

Actually as I look over it her course load difficulty might be an issue.
