Chance me please?

Thank you for glancing at this thread, all help is greatly appreciated.

I am a white, female from the state of NY
SAT Score: 2040
Math:680
Critical Reading:720
Writing:640

My Junior Year GPA is a 101 (weighted) and my overall high school GPA is a 94 (weighted)
There was a huge amount of improvement junior year as you can tell XD
I took 6 AP Courses in high school
AP Literature, AP US History, AP World History, AP Human Geography and AP Chemistry.

I starred in my high school theater production all 4 years and directed for 1 year.
I also have 300 hours of community service from a theater group that uses theater to spread awareness about domestic abuse.
I had summer jobs for 2 summers, one was doing clerical work for a theater, the other was clerical work for a law firm.

Please help me :)

I’d give you a two

Thank you very much :)

If need be, don’t submit sat scores, a good portion of accepted students don’t. Even with them I think you have a great chance, I am playing this fall too!

A good supplement may make you stand out. Best of luck.

[Arts Supplement (Bowdoin - Admissions)](http://www.bowdoin.edu/admissions/apply/arts-supplement.shtml)

Apply and give it your best shot, but don’t hold your breath, and apply to lots of other schools where your odds are much better. I had two daughters apply to Bowdoin with similiar stats–one was rejected outright and the other was put on the wait list. The one who was rejected outright was the star of her high school musical and her SAT scores were as high if not higher than yours. If you can get your SAT scores up above 2200 or get an ACT composite of 33 or 34 you will stand a better chance, but my second daughter who only made the wait list had a an ACT score of 33 with a perfect 36 on the Math portion of her ACT exam, and a 3.9 unweighted GPA–and she had extensive experience working in remote villages in Cambodia and Laos, and was a strong athlete on her Crew team for 3 years, and studied French in France in an immersion program. Non academic activities will only carry you so far and should be viewed as icing on the cake.

you have no chance of getting in. try another school

Actually, she does have a chance. Wowing the admissions officer at the interview does wonders. Sing a song. Do a dance. “We need someone to balance out these analyticals. Remember that girl from NY who sang and tap-danced…”

With apologies:

I agree. You have no chance of getting in.

Thanks guys  this is great inspiration to work hard on my essays and retake my SATs. Really do appreciate it.

Try taking the ACT exam. You may score better on it than the ACT exam.
