Chance me please?

Hey, I am a male incoming senior in a New England private boarding school. NYU is currently my top choice and I was wondering my chances with the school. As for connections my parents know an excruciatingly big person in correlation with the school but I want to chanced not considering the connection. Thank you for any help that you can provide, or insight as how I can improve my application! Financial aid will not be needed.

Cumulative GPA: 3.54 SAT: 1940 ACT: 28 with a 34 in Reading
AP Eng and Lit was a 4
AP Chem I could not take because I was hospitalized because of a severe Staph infection two days before the exam and missed it, will make note of this on the app. A- in the course though
SAT II's were a 550 Bio, 630 Lit, 550 Math I. I know Math and Bio were low but these SAT's were a day after 5 exams over 4 days and I will only be submitting the Lit only

Which school in NYU are you aiming to get into?

Sorry, forgot about that, CAS for Biochemistry or Biology, Pre-med track. Thanks!

I’d say you have a good chance but they’d be a lot higher with better scores! They’re still in range however so good luck!

Any other opinions??

Yeah i agree with nyusternie. Ur def in range but just try to gef over like 30 for act and then i think ull be fine.

You should really retake those SAT IIs and aim for scores at least 670+ ESP in bio of that’s what you’ll be declaring as your major. To be honest your scores are a little on the low side and you might be considered for the LSP program. I’m assuming you’re Asian if you were in the Chinese club, which is not a minority group and will not help with your chances of admission either. I would aim for an SAT score of 2050+ if you plan on retaking or just use that major connection you have, even for CAS if that’s the college to which you are applying.

I’m not Asian, I’m a Caucasian male haha

Still not a minority .
