Chance Me Please?

Sorry to do this but I really want to know my chances for next fall.

I'm a white, non-Hispanic male from NJ. I go to a public high school in Essex county.

SATs: 1960 (super scored) (CR:640, Math: 640, Writing:670).
GPA: 4.1 (possibly more now) weighted.

EC's are one of my bright spots. I play baseball (also played football). I play trumpet in my school's honor band. I'm a volunteer tutor with a program that runs in my district. A friend and I host a TV program on local access and we do a weekly radio segment with a local college broadcasting station. I'm involved heavily in my church's youth ministry program. I work at a day camp during the summer. I am also a leader in my school's Italian Culture Club.

Junior year I finished with at least an A- in every subject and I was in two APs: AP US History and AP Language and Composition. My senior year I'll be enrolled in AP Literature, AP Environmental Science and AP US Government and Politics.

I'm not sure whether I want to apply to the Business school or do Economics in the School of A's and S's, but as of right now I'm thinking the latter because the Business school is harder to get into.

Thanks in advance!

What is your unweighted GPA?

3.7 unweighted

OP is a match for U-M but by no means a slam dunk. GPA and SAT are within the range of accepted applicants but 3.7 is on the low end of match. He can apply for pre-admit for business school but I doubt he will be accepted as a pre-admit but it does not affect chances for LSA. OP should do more research on U-M before sending in his application because there is no “School of A’s and S’s” and reference to such a thing in an essay would not show a demonstrated interest in U-M.

You’re on the fast track to gettin’ deferred with that GPA and test score. 1280 is on the low end of acceptable range (writing score not really relevant). Being a preferred admit applicant to Ross is irrelevant on your application for LS&A so check the box if you want.
