<p>What are my chances of getting in UD ChemE major?
Ethnicity: Asian male OOS.
GPA: 3.8 UW

<p>You might bring up the SAT scores or try the ACT. The scores could be a little low.</p>

<p>What would be an average score on the SAT that ChemE students at UDel usually have?</p>

<p>I’m sorry, I don’t know. My D is an honors student and there are a lot of Chemical Engineering students in the honors programs, so their SAT scores would be pretty high.</p>

<p>Usually for Chem E you would want to get your SAT up at least by 150 points on the low end, coming from LI your in a high app pool of students.
HS class of 2012 of kids I know who applied and got in versus those that did not low end cut off point was 1800.</p>

<p>One I know who got in Chem E , 29 ACT (did better on ACT did not send SAT). The other who got in Engineering was 1860. The 29 kid got money the other did not.</p>

<p>Give serious consideration to the ACT, if you have done that well in school, the ACT may suit you better.</p>

<p>I agree… give the ACT a shot. esp if science is strong for you. My d never sent in her SAT scores as she only got a 1790 on it but got a 30 on the ACT. She is not a ChemE student but thought I’d share. good luck to you!</p>

<p>If I take the Oct 27th ACT would they be able to send my scores in time?</p>

<p>That should be no problem at all. UD does not have rolling admissions. All OOS students will be notified around the middle of next March regarding admission decisions. As long as UD gets the scores by I believe 12/1/12 (check the date on UD’s website) you also would still receive full consideration for merit scholarship money as well. Also on your application make sure UD is aware of your minority population status (there is a check off box for this).</p>

<p>Your patent application and the other aspects of your app stack up well. You might wanna retake the SATs though. Overall, you’ve got a great chance I guess!</p>
