Chance me please!

Hello I am a Vietnamese student who is intending to apply ED for Bowdoin this coming November. I am wondering if I stand any chance of getting admitted into this school.

I’m taking the IB Diploma in a Singapore high school and my IB exams are just 1 month away from now. I offer Economics Physics Maths at the Higher Level and Further Maths Spanish English at Standard Level

Standardized testings:

  • SAT 1: M 800 CR 720 W 770 (first seating)
  • SAT 2: Math 1 770 Math 2 800 Physics 800

Acad achievements:

  • Predicted grade: 45/45
  • Top student during my Junior Year
  • I was also top for 2 subjects and got into the Dean’s Lists (reserved for top 10%) for my 3 HL subjects
  • I took part in several math competitions and won a number of accolades both locally and internationally. I was the school winner for AMC 10 & AMC 12 and qualified for AIME on both occasions

ECAs:

  • I’m involved in a 4-year partnership with Singapore Operation Smile - a charity organization helping children with cleft lips, cleft palates - and founded a student chapter at my school during junior year. We organized and participated in a mission trip to Indonesia, an indoor carnival and various fund-raising activities
  • 4-year membership with school’s Math Club. Club Vice Pre during my Senior Year
  • Founder of school’s Tchoukball team - I doubt if anyone’s ever heard of that - and was the team vice captain during senior year. We took part in the National Interschool and clinched a respectable 4th place in our debut.
  • I spent the entire 3-month break before my Senior Year on an attachment with the National Metrology Center

Others

  • I got my Recs from my Physics + English teachers and I guess they should be fine
  • My Common App essay is on my lifelong affinity for writing longhand with pencils. I’m currently still working on my Supp
I am pretty worried now as being an intl applicant with meager contribution, the school certainly has every reason to turn me down

You look wicked good.

I’d say you have a great chance. International admission is tough because typically they fund international students completely and there are very few of those slots, but I can’t see why you wouldn’t be one of them. Good luck!
